Crossover Country out of Custer County Idaho

7C-Band (7C is the state designation for Custer County Idaho seat Challis) is a project that Brian Walton and Alisha McDrummond initially put together to perform shows in the Challis area and has long since been a staple in the Idaho music scene performing at concerts and festivals throughout the state. Their playlist consists primarily of crossover country and rock cover songs focusing on Alisha’s belting vocals and Brian’s acoustic guitar work ranging from Reba to Luke Combs.

When playing as a duo, the emphasis is on an unplugged feel with crystal clear wide-ranging vocals and melodic guitar riffs. Brian also performs unplugged versions of his number one hits Cowgirl Thang, Wear Them Blues, and his latest Turning Up the Weekend.

Braun Brothers Reunion

Pre & Afterparty Events

7C-Band has been playing the Braun Brothers Reunion (BBR) afterparty show at historic Bux’s Place for the last eight years. Alisha, a Challis native, has been hanging with the Brauns (Muzzie, Mickey, Gary, Cody, and Willy) since she was knee-high to a grasshopper and has been up to their place (ca. 25 miles from Challis) more often than she can remember. Brian and Muzzie crossed paths in Austin, Tx. a few times in the late ’80s, early ’90s while Brian was working with Lyle Lovett and Christine Albert. So, it’s not uncommon for the boys (or Muzzie himself) to pop in and tip a hat.

The pre-party show (August 9, 2023) is in the bar itself and is primarily for the festival performers, staff, and crew who want to knock the dust off their boots after a long day of setting up, but also the early birds who show up to get the party started and rub elbows with the notables.

The afterparty shows (August 10-22, 2023) are performed outside in the patio area and are events in their own right with awesome music, visual effects, and cameos from festival performers and friends who are playing in and around Challis during the festival.

Historic Bux’s Place

Bux’s Place in Challis, Idaho was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and is the only remaining smoking bar in Challis Idaho. From the bullet holes in the bartop to the Deer mounts ranging back to the 1900s, Bux’s is full of Old West Mining Town nostalgia.

Once a Hotel and Mercantile, Bux’s is the only remaining two-story commercial log building featuring a back bar from the late 1800s. The world-famous neon sign reading “Bux’s Place” dates from the 1930s and has been featured in numerous motion pictures, documentaries, and television series.
